METHOD & PRACTICAL GUIDANCE

Get a result you can use.

Start with a compatible original.

Use a JPG, PNG or WebP with the supported visible corner logo. A screenshot, resized copy or heavily recompressed file can move or alter the pattern. The engine checks a known logo pattern; it is not a general object eraser. Animated PNG and WebP inputs remain unchanged.

Understand the edit.

Reverse alpha blending estimates the underlying pixel values using the known overlay and its transparency. A confident match is exported as PNG. An uncertain match preserves the original pixels. Without compression selected, the original file bytes are kept. Even a successful match needs a visual check around the edited corner, especially on fine textures or clipped highlights.

Review, then choose an export.

Compare the original and result before downloading. Also compress optimizes the edited canvas losslessly as PNG, or selects a smaller lossless PNG/WebP when allowed. If no watermark matches, it losslessly optimizes the original file without editing any pixels. This preserves the edited pixels, not the pixels that were changed by removal. Up to 20 images and 150 MB combined can be processed in one batch.

Use images you have permission to edit. This tool does not detect or remove invisible SynthID and does not establish an image’s origin, ownership or authenticity. Smart Image Tools is independent of Google and Gemini. How we document our tools

A PRACTICAL EXAMPLE

Know what a useful result looks like.

Edit a supported visible corner logo while preserving the rest of your image.

Try this workflow

Start with
A 640 × 480 synthetic test image with a 48 px visible logo, 32 px from the right and bottom.
Set up
Use Remove watermark and inspect the bottom-right corner.
What to expect
A supported match edits the logo region. An uncertain match leaves pixels unchanged; Also compress can still losslessly optimize the original file. Neither result detects or removes invisible SynthID.

Check before using the result

  • Compare the corner at actual size.
  • Keep the original and review artifacts on detailed backgrounds.

When the result needs work

Resizing, cropping or recompressing a logo can make its shape or position unsupported. Use the original file; repeated processing cannot fix an incompatible mark.

Examples illustrate specific inputs and settings. Actual output size and appearance depend on your file and browser. Practice images are synthetic; they do not contain personal data.

GOOD TO KNOW

A few useful answers.

More help

What watermark does Smart Image Tools remove?

The Gemini watermark remover targets the visible Gemini logo in the corner of compatible images using reverse alpha blending. Results vary if an image has been resized, edited, or uses a different logo pattern. Preview the result before downloading.

Does this remove invisible SynthID?

No. Invisible SynthID is separate from the visible Gemini logo. Smart Image Tools does not implement SynthID detection or removal, and compression is not a guarantee that an invisible watermark is removed.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

Image files are processed in your browser and are not uploaded for processing. The site can record processing metadata, such as dimensions, file size and processing time; new events do not include filenames. See the privacy policy for details.

Is the watermark remover free?

Yes. You can use the browser-based watermark remover without an account. Choose your images, review the result, and download.

Which image formats can I use?

The watermark remover accepts JPG, PNG and WebP images up to 50 MB each. You can select multiple files and download the results as a ZIP.

Will compression change image quality?

The Also compress option uses lossless PNG or lossless WebP. It preserves every pixel and the dimensions of the watermark-removed image. Only the watermark edit changes pixels. We compare lossless encodings and keep the smallest selected result. Editing may require more bytes than the uploaded file; if no smaller result is available, the result is labeled clearly.
